Looking for a winter holiday this season? Well, here’s the good news! As the title suggests, you can now fly to 5 different European countries in a given period at just under SGD 900 per pax! What’s more, save yourself some annual leaves by traveling on the period where most of us are busy running around to visit families and relatives.
That is, if you’re not doing any house visits…
Yes, you’ve guessed it! You’re traveling on the Chinese New Year period. After scouring for awhile now searching for good deals, I’ve managed to spot these affordable airfares flying with the major airlines. The travel period are some of the most optimised selection, but feel free to configure it however you want it.
To start making your own configuration of the travel dates, head on over to Skyscanner today and explore to your hearts content. When it comes to finding affordable airfares, I always trust Skyscanner to help find the best suitable travel dates and timing for me.
I cannot emphasise how powerful and insanely helpful it is, to have a single platform sourcing out all major airlines for you!
When you start traveling enough, you will realise why I said the above. It’s a pain to hunt for travel deals when you need to load 20 different websites just for that.
Bearing in mind that we’re almost doing quite a “last-minute” booking here – We’re already near mid-december, you know – we can’t be too picky on the travel dates. I think it’s lucky enough to find cheap airfares, so we’ll have to play along with the selective travel dates.

While you may not get much snow in the city area, it’s nevertheless winter for them with temperature as low as 5 deg. It’s the perfect time and condition for your family to experience winter weather comfortably if it’s their first time!
Considered the most western side of Europe, Ireland is no doubt a fine city to start your winter holidays.
It’s cold, it’s wet but never mind all of these when there’re fine wines for you to enjoy.
Maybe you can even create an itinerary just touring around the winery vineyards to taste their wines!
Why not?
Note: This is also another flight selection configured to fly off after reunion dinner. However, in this case it might be very tricky as the flight is the same night as you had the dinner. Though there should be plenty of time for you to get to the airport if you have that dinner at 7pm. Just saying…

Aha! Northern Europe, how can I miss that out when suggesting winter holidays? What’s a good winter trip without visiting the North and having a chance to witness the Northern Lights?
Well, if you agree with that then Norway is one of the best place to kickoff your winter holiday mood! With so much to see, so much to experience, there’s endless possibility in this country. Right to the left of Oslo is the famous Bergen city, where your adventure is just getting started.
If you’re adventurous enough – and has spare money and time – traveling upwards to Alesund will most certainly reward you even more.
I guess, I don’t need to spell out Lofoten. Do I? Cause I’m dying to go there.
Final Verdict
Yup, that’s all the 5 European countries I’ve sourced out that costs under SGD 900 for you! I’ve been traveling for awhile now and quite honestly, getting a deal like this is hard to come by. I wouldn’t say it’s rare – it’s fairly frequent now with major price wars – but when there’s supply, there’s demand.
Travel deals like these go out fast and there isn’t always a fix period all the time. Hence, hard to come by. So when you do spot it, snatch it before others do!
Just for my community sake, I shall help you to map out the possibilities of these trips in various combination. Check out the table below.
You don’t have to thank me. Just book a trip now, enjoy and go have fun with your family!
Bearing in mind that these estimations are to help you gauge in terms of base cost expected for your group size. Naturally, other factors like activities, car rentals and other components will come into place and affect the grand total cost.
These estimations are also using one single hotel (bestseller or most affordable yet decent one) as the base cost modifier. Adjusting this to your personal preference, in my opinion, this will swing your cost upwards/downwards the most of all components of a trip.
Oh, and don’t forget, expenses are also dependent on personal preferences and what you eat, do and spend on. However, as a rough gauge, the assumption is that certain type of costs (e.g. transport) can be split amongst the group – hence, the larger the group, the lower the average expenses estimated.
Note: Please note that below table was tabulated for your reference and are purely estimates. Before you book a trip, always ensure you perform your fair-share of research first. Have fun!

What’s not to love of this country? Really, the people are nice, the country is spectacularly beautiful, the food is decent, lots of activities to do, Northern Lights, lots of snow… Do I need to go on?
If there’s ever a chance you’re considering to travel to Northern Europe, please give Finland a chance to start it off with you properly. We always hear lots of media covering Iceland and Norway, and both of them tend to overshadow Finland quite a bit.
Obviously, I’m not saying they aren’t good. In fact, I’ve been to all 3 and I must say that they are all unique on its own. There’s nothing you should be comparing and I strongly recommend you to experience all of them.
If I may suggest, you can consider going in this order: Finland > Norway > Iceland.
No, not ranking them in terms of awesomeness, but in terms of experience. Finland being less rough and more gentle experiences, while Iceland can be a little harsh yet otherworldly beautiful.
So there you go! A total of 6 European countries to consider for your next Chinese New Year travel plans! But hey, don’t stop there! If you spot more awesome deals and would like to share with the community, tell me!
