Quick Read

Travellers like us, remained home-bound and unable to fulfil the needs of traveling and promoting of places to go. Read on my blog to understand how we cope.

Quick read: April’s now over. As the world continues to deal with the COVID-19 situation, the travel industry, along with others too, suffers heavy blows and now struggles to exist. Travellers like us, remained home-bound and unable to fulfil the needs of traveling and promoting of places to go. And how do we deal with this situation? Read on the conversation below to understand further.

As the situation on COVID-19 continues to evolve across the world, one of the largest impact is perhaps the travel industry.

And to all travellers alike, it’s painful and at times frustrating as it disrupts plans for all of us.

I certainly felt the same too.

Don’t get me wrong, we do care about what’s going on and what’s at stake. But as with everyone else, life goes on too.

And it’s exactly because we cared, that aren’t able to execute most of our plans accordingly.

Oh, my list of places to travel to just grew larger now.

While we can’t travel, we can still remember and reminisce the past travels through the photos I’ve created.

And perhaps, one of the best way to connect with all my readers is through a conversation style.

Will you continue to share more photos on your Instagram? And what do these photos mean to you?

Short answer is definitely yes. Long answer is, well… long.

The first biggest travel I’ve made, and to which I had stepped out of my comfort to plan something this far out, was to go Iceland for our honeymoon.

It’s also the beginning of me picking up photography as a hobby I truly enjoyed.

Travel photography allowed me to see things more than just meets the eyes. It opens up a world where peering through the lens removed all distraction from around you, and focuses on just the things that matter most – What you’re seeing right in front of your lens.

And quite amazingly, I appreciate how a photo can manage to freeze a moment, an emotion or event of a scene, forever.

Till the next generation after me, photos from 2015 will still contain fond, precious memories. They last forever.

But what I enjoyed even more so, is the ability to tell that story to all my followers.

To narrate and try to bring you into that dream state, where you could imagine yourself there on the spot and feel what I feel.

It’s not just about how good your photos look. It’s also not about how many likes I get. It’s about the story behind your image. That alone, makes your photo priceless.

And the best way to tell that story, at least for now, is through Instagram.

While my travel photos do come at a much slower rate as compared to a year or so ago, I’m still continuing to share them through this channel.

Why you may ask? Because I’m yet to be able to travel full-time. Because the travel photos are no longer the centre of what I enjoyed.

There’s a greater picture here – Traveling. I’ve come to realise that traveling is the whole reason why I love travel photography too.

At its core, it’s the essence of knowledge, freedom, experiential and adventure that excites me. That is life itself.

Travel is affected for everyone. How are you staying true to this course and pursue on?

I think that’s the tough part. Like, it’s really really difficult. Without traveling, I have no content. No inspiration.

The amount of content and the speed at which they are released, had begin to slow down tremendously since March too.

With so many things happening that are directly affecting our daily lives, I almost get no chance to focus much on travel blogging itself.

Perhaps many other bloggers may have seen it in a different way. And perhaps, full-time bloggers may have run into a different set of problems altogether.

But regardless of who you are, what you do, we’re all in it together. Because without this connection, we won’t be humans.

I sought to live my life to the fullest and so it will. And to do so, is to continue thinking positively and as much as I can, stay active on my goals.

There’s probably no other ways around it, nor a truer way to put it across. It’s just pure hard persistence, determination and perseverance.

If you’re also pursuing a travel lifestyle like I do, you know what I mean and how we felt. And kudos to you if you manage to keep it alive still, and stay strong on your dream!

Earlier you said a new signature series is coming. What else is planned ahead if you would be so kind to tickle our curiosity?

Plenty. There’re so many things to do and so many things that could’ve been done.

At the end of my life’s journey, I don’t want to be the one who can only say “I wish I had”. I want to be the one that said, “I did.”

There’s no greater sense of achievement in your lifetime than knowing that you did what you wanted to do and not wish you had.

Partnering with Visit Rovaniemi is probably one of the best thing that could happened to me in the first quarter of 2020.

A list of content and creation are in line to be released as part of the plan for this sweet collaboration. It’s been my greatest pleasure thus far.

There’re also product partnerships where various travel related products will be featured, reviewed and shared as part of the content promotion of these great inventions.

So if you’re looking for great reviews and hopefully, discounts, stay around and subscribe to my blog to keep up to date!

Don’t go missing out on anything: Subscribe to my blog now

No really, my dear subscribers will definitely be the first to receive these awesome deals and discounts. That’s the perk isn’t it?

I don’t like making it difficult for my readers. The fact that you enjoyed, subscribed and read my work, is the biggest effort and contribution I could’ve asked for.

And to stay to the truest intention, getting any worthwhile treats would certainly be offered to these subscribers first.

Aside from products and partnerships content, there’s also a list of more great content I’ve planned to release from my past travel experience and knowledge.

So yes, it’s a year planned for but didn’t expect it the way it is. Just like everyone else.

2020 will be indefinitely different for most of us, and it will certainly shake many different industries in both positive and negative way.

I just wish that the travel industry will persevere  on, stay strong as I’m certain we will rebound back. Stronger than ever. The deprivation of being able to move about, travel around, and the coop-up venting from stay home restriction, is going to have everyone literally, wanting to travel.

And so, my travel plans for 2020 will simply be shifted to 2021. But none cancelled, removed or forgotten. 😎

Cause that’s how we rolled. 😉

What’s next and what can be expected?

Apart from what’s already being shared above, April came to close with almost nothing exciting happening for me. Unfortunately.

But it created the perfect time for me to reflect, think and plan on what’s next too.

And it only excites me to say that more great content and partnerships are in line for 2020!

Perhaps one day, I would be able to release a true, physical and top quality photo album for sale on my travel blog.

That would really be an awesome way to celebrate the work I’ve done, and the effort I’ve thrown into all of these.

Oh, certainly not forgetting a big partnership with a big brand to create authentic content would definitely be even better!

For all that it’s worth, it’s a long journey. A long ways to go. And a lifetime commitment I’ve put my life into.

With that, I’m wrapping for April’s newsletter. Keep going, stay safe and I’ll see you folks around.

Don’t forget to subscribe! Peace.
