Quick Read: This compact, light-weight and yet powerful travel adapter is super versatile with a retractable cable near 1m length to solve your travel power problems!
After a day of fun, exciting and tiring activities outside, you finally hit back the hotel or apartment ready to rest and recharge.
So does your electronic devices too. But charging multiple devices had always been a huge problem for you.
Guess what? You’re obviously not the only one. Duh…
When we’ve different power adapters and length of cables, we try to be as creative as we can.
And anything goes, really. From a cup upside down, to a box, to a pile of clothes, or even another multi-plug adapter.
All because the main multi-plug adapter got too heavy and remains unsteady if left alone.
Ahh, the never-ending agonising frustration of managing the charging points!
But here’s the thing. Everyone knows this problem. And many had created all types of solutions.
And I think… I think, I’ve found my perfect solution.
After experiencing different types of scenario throughout my travels, I’ve formed a very solid concept of what would work best for me.
What about you? Have you encounter enough to know what solution works for you?
Introducing Mogics Power Bagel
It’s nothing new. The product has been out in the market for a long time.
Why have I not used it before? Well, I travel on a budget for one. And two, as a seasoned traveller, I’ve adapt to ways to tackle on challenges like this for a long time.
But in the recent one year, I’ve gained additional equipments, enough to lung around 2 bags of chargers, cables and odd-sized adapters.
I never understood why adapters had to come at such odd size or inversed manner like the one below. But, I’m not judging. Just ranting like everyone does.
They have two versions of this, with the other having a slight difference in the specifications.
Check out their other version: Donut and Bagel
And that shall be tested next time…
But today, I want to talk about it’s first version. I first saw it on Kickstarter, got interested but hesitated.
No, not because i wasn’t convinced by the product.
But more so by the general sentiment towards a problem that had been there for ages and unresolved.
Took me a couple of months – or to be more exact, a month before my next big trip – to finally decide on getting it.
After all, if I don’t go sourcing for a solution, it wouldn’t be fixed on its own right?
So here it is. First try, first trip and first review. But man, I’ve got to say, this thing’s a beast!
A summary of my experience with Mogics power bagel? Sure.
It works like a charm. Right out of the box.
I know. Maybe you’re going to say that’s a little too much, too exaggerated.
But you’ve got to trust me on this one. Once you use it, you’re never going to turn back. That’s all I can say.

So what’s good about it that you’re so sold on?
It’s compact and easy. Like flat, you know.
Our typical multi-plug adapter is box-y, large and bulky.
Carrying one is fine. But 2? Along with all sizes of power cables and chargers, you find yourself stuck with a big bag of mess.
Here’s what I had when traveling.
Not kidding at all. Perhaps, mine is already considered a minuscule compared to others.
These days, you’re likely to have:
- 2x phone cables with its power adapter
- 1x laptop power adapter (it’s huge!)
- 1x camera battery charger
- 1x drone or GoPro or related
- 2x power bank chargers
- 2x or 3x international adapters
- 2x multi-plug adapters
And the list can go on. But just the above alone, already sounds like a mess and trouble for us.
Now, imagine this. A single multi-plug power adapter, that replaces your international and traditional multi-plug adapters.
The 2 types of items that are the most bulky yet you need more of them.
My electronics bags suddenly got reduced to just 5 in that list!
Ok, maybe this is a little exaggerated.
Essentially, each Mogics Power Bagel replaces 1x international adapter and 1x multi-plug adapter.
So if you needed 2 sets of those, you will need 2 power bagels to then effectively say, the list is reduced to just 5 there.
But still, 2 power bagels is flatter than a single multi-plug adapter.
it’s just no brainer to grab them instead!
I can’t imagine anything better than that. I just can’t.
Ok, you got me. But I have many chargers. How many can it hold?
I had the exact same question. And I just had to test it out.
Including bigger voltage ones.
The actual test of the Mogics-cal Power Bagel
That’s test one. Relatively simple. I don’t like overkilling on first try, you know.
It’s a success. The bagel does get heated up for a fair bit. But that’s normal.
Just make sure you don’t cover it up with tons of things that doesn’t allow air circulation, and you should be good leaving it to charge overnight.
And no, they weren’t tested locally. I took the risk to test it on my trip, leaving those bulky, ugly, limited adapters back home. If the bagel is out, I’m done too. Didn’t I just say not to overkill myself? Wait. What?
Ok, anyways it works. That’s the point. So what’s next?
Test two – loading up bigger and more
The big guys.
Sadly, on this trip I didn’t see myself needing to fully plugged out the bagel. Or maybe it’s just really because it can hold more than 3 at a time already.
Or that it charges up really efficiently. That’s a really good question.
Does it?
It does! Quite effectively I must say. I didn’t exactly timed it, but I do know that it didn’t take me too long to finish charging two iPhones and one DJI.
A fast charge would do the trick too.
But this, this is working very well. It charges normally, if not slightly faster.
So that’s good to know. Now for the final test.
Test three – How does it perform on (almost) fully loaded?
Almost because I think there’s still 1 slot left. But I tried to load all I needed to charge for that night.
That means 2x iphone cables, 1x DJI charger, 1x macbook charger and 1x camera battery adapter. And…
It works absolutely fine. It WORKS.
Guys, can you imagine a compact, flat, international adapter like this actually can fully support that many charging outlets? Like… Seriously!
I was so amazed, pleased and… amazed again. I mean sure, any international adapters can do that.
I’ve done the same with my old ones too.
But the point here is, you can do all of those plus it’s compact, technically lighter and more flexible.
Wait. Flexible? In what way?
Mogics Power Bagel works in any angles, combination and position
The Power Bagel by Mogics had two distinctive design that stole my heart away.
Ever found yourself trying to figure out a way to plug your adapters and chargers into that awkward, hidden in a corner or tilted at angle that’s just awfully impossible to use?
Yeah, somehow when the electrical circuits were designed and built in the rooms, clearly didn’t think it through.
The worse kind that I’ve to creatively solved it, are those they had my old international adapter inverted over. Like this.
Dear designers/electricians/contractors or whoever does it, can you please explain to me how 2 sensitive pins can hold the weight of oddly sized and heavy chargers? And how exactly am I supposed to use it?
But Mogics thought of it. And they solved it for you. In any direction, angles or positions.
The first design that removes the pain out of this situation is, a retractable light-weight cord. This cord, does wonder. Literally. (Wink)
At a length of almost 1 metre long, it’s just like our olden days extendable power cable, except it’s minified and much lighter.
With this design, you can reach a power socket ANYWHERE. Under the bed, under the cabinet, above your head, in a tight corner of a room, you name it.
And I’m totally not exaggerating this.
And the second design that brings the Power Bagel to the next level, is how your chargers will almost never knock into one another.
The spacing given between each socket is wide enough to ensure any odd sized chargers can snug nicely in.
The fact that your charger can go either way, is the genius invention here. Without the third pin and only requiring the connection of the 2 pins from the charger, you can go in either direction.
But what makes it even better is that the shape of this power bagel is rounded, eliminating the weight balancing issue you would’ve on older adapters.
And it’s simply because, the Power Bagel can now lie on ANY direction. Flat on the floor, tilted on a side because the other charger is larger, it doesn’t matter.
It’s not going to affect your charging ability and the amount of chargers you can put on this beast.
Great pricing for great value. Well worth every bucks
And if you think the above reasons aren’t enough to convince you, the price should.
It doesn’t cost exorbitantly expensive and burn a big hole in your pocket before you even go on a trip.
It only costs SGD 69.90!
Ok it may be expensive in the area of just an adapter or even international adapters.
But considering the fact that it’s all your problems gone and every convenience packed into one small device, it’s worth every bucks.
And you shouldn’t just stop at using it just for your trips.
It’s powerful, it’s multi-purposeful for you to even use it when you’re back home.
Most adapters come with a fuse. But Mogics Power Bagel comes with an extra spare fuse.
Talk about safety and protection, this universal power bagel will also help keep your safety in check.
Find yourself in a bad situation where the fuse had blown off? Once again Mogics had you covered. The spare fuse will certainly come in handy!
Final thoughts – Should you invest in a Power Bagel for your next holiday?
Non-bias, I promise. Although I do really like the product alot, but that’s just me.
More importantly, I want to make sure you had everything you need to know before you invest in something.
Here’s what I can tell you. This is my travel electronics bag before I purchased this magical product.
This is after I purchased it. There’s two big difference you’ll notice – One, I now pack one lesser bag. Two, the amount of chargers remain the same, if not more. Obviously.
But the point here is, despite having more chargers, it’s now down to one bag.
Because of Mogics Power Bagel.
Now, we’re all humans. So we rely a lot on feeling the actual product and seeing it for ourselves.
With the above as a good reference of what it can do, your next step is head down to the new Funan Mall in Raffles Place. “We The People” has many Kickstarter products showcased there, and one of them is the Power Bagel.
Check out: We The People website
And lastly, I shall just add my opinions to close this off.
Ever since having this product, I never had to worry about awkward power socket placement, odd-sized chargers knocking into one another, and unable to fit more than 3 chargers at one go.
As a frequent traveller, being able to pack compact and light-weight is an extremely important aspect for me. And I’m sure it’s the case for most of us.
As our electronics grow more, we bring about their power chargers along with our travels too. And that means increasing occupancy of electronic bags for them.
Naturally, the Mogics Power Bagel isn’t a solution for all. If you’re already facing “packing too many charger” issues, you will still face it. But if it’s adapter and charging issue, sure this product is your go-to solution.
I hope this review had help you decide better on which product works for you, and that it can help you in your future travel!
