Quick Read: This second instalment features seven different colours represented in each individual unique images taken in the South Island, New Zealand.

In my previous attempt, I’ve released an album called “The Remarkable Mountains” in the South Island, New Zealand.

The album features some of the most incredible and powerful images of the mountains I came across while I was traveling in New Zealand.

I have had a spectacular time creating these albums for viewing pleasure because it encompasses great creativity energy and inspiration to travel more.

It’s also an amazing experience to be able to intimately appreciate what nature has to offer.

And today, I’m proud to release another Signature Series album featuring the “7 Colours of the South” in New Zealand.

Altogether, there will be 3 unique New Zealand Signature Albums composed of different theme and inspiration, that will be released here. So stay tuned for the 3rd and final instalment to this series!

In any case, I hope you thoroughly enjoy these short but sweet series of images I’ve created throughout my travel journey!

Read on below for a conversation-like note of how the album transpire to be what it is today.

The Album’s theme sounds very inspirational and cheerful. Why the name?

In my mind, these are specially crafted albums. A unique name is the only way befitting the respect I had towards my work.

I wouldn’t dare proclaim them to be professional, but it’s a direct reflection of the passion I had towards my travel photography.

“7 Colours of the South”, is a name given to this album that had so aptly yet precisely described the diverse colour spectrum of what New Zealand holds.

And through my journey in the South Island, I’ve managed to capture several images that I’m very proud of and could intimately relate to every moment of it.

So to create this theme, I handpicked seven signature images from the list that not only follows through the concept, but also clearly illustrate my emotion towards the beauty of these locations.

These images had precisely froze the moment in time where the colours are vibrantly shining throughout the composition and echoing its purity.

And because I managed to find exactly seven different unique images, reflecting exactly seven colours, I felt the name was just perfect.

And it’s all about being natural.

While the images can be enhanced, the raw colours of the scene are largely intact and reflects the true tone of what the eyes see.

Why 7 though? Why stop at 7, why not 8 or 10?

It was originally more ambitious. I had wanted to include eleven colours into the album.

But I realised two things. One, I didn’t have enough images that clearly illustrate 11 different core colours. Two, these free albums are intended to be short series.

Eleven image series just feel… a bit too long, you know.

The quest that I’ve set upon on, was with the concept of five or seven image series. But never more than that.

Is the previous series “The Remarkable Mountains” somehow connected to this?

In some way, yes. Journeying through the South Island of New Zealand, has allowed me to look for very specific scenes for the albums.

Naturally, the images in the previous album were taken along the way, with some of them being in the same location.

But each and every single image are unique on its own – shot by me, processed and crafted by myself as well.

So if you look these albums as a whole, it’s probably a series that you can enjoy back-to-back in just a different theme.

The 3rd album would be the last for South Island, New Zealand. Will it be a special edition?

The third album will be sort of a closure for my trip to New Zealand, yes. Because till date, I still reminisce the good times I had there.

And yes, I do intend to make it a special edition, and the images included are just as powerful if not more.

Because the images are really special to me, I’m sure it will be one of a kind on its own.

But when you combine all three albums together, you would realise how beautiful and unique they are as an entire series.

Wait. Did you just say that these albums will be launched as free download?

Yes, indefinitely and most definitely. I don’t quite yet see myself as a professional photographer. Neither am I accredited in any ways.

If you could look into these albums closely, I was hoping that people can see the amount of passion and dedication I had towards my work.

I really, thoroughly enjoyed traveling and doing travel photography. That huge amount of creative energy and satisfaction is unparalleled.

And to be able to show to the world what I see with my own eyes, in best possible form, in its truest tone, is a great pleasure to me.

So yes, you heard that right.

Through the lens, photography had shown me way more things than I could’ve imagined.

Sometimes we get so distracted by all the visuals around us that we lose focus on the most primitive things.

But by offering such an “expensive” memory for the community to appreciate, is probably the best way for me to express my work.

Show your appreciation for the effort given to make this album happen

Taking the images took plenty of monetary and time effort. And so does crafting the album.

But it made no sense to me to charge for any of these albums because the goal wasn’t exactly for monetary benefits.

That’s not to say that any monetary contribution aren’t welcomed. But it’s more like, I wouldn’t impose on anyone to do so.
