Quick Read

With almost no other forms of travel or holidays (except for staycations), 2020 and 2021 is my longest streak of inactivity. I took this much needed time to take a few steps back and relook at what I can do or want to do for the blog. At the end of the day, it turns out I had quite a lot to work on! And today, I would like to provide some quick updates on what is being worked on behind the scenes. Stay around and enjoy!

Quick Read: With almost no other forms of travel or holidays (except for staycations), 2020 and 2021 is my longest streak of inactivity. I took this much needed time to take a few steps back and relook at what I can do or want to do for the blog. At the end of the day, it turns out I had quite a lot to work on! And today, I would like to provide some quick updates on what is being worked on behind the scenes. Stay around and enjoy!

It’s almost coming to an end for 2021, and just like everyone else, I missed being able to travel so much. Whenever I write a new article, it made my go through all the photos I’ve taken on location and it reminds me of all the beautiful memories I’ve had in each country.

Since my last trip in 2020 before the lockdown, I’ve been going back and forth thinking of what’s ahead for me and the blog. And I’m glad to say that it’s here to stay and I’m extremely happy that I’ve found different ways in which I will be creating content.

It certainly helps motivate me that I would still occasionally get positive feedbacks, and other bloggers sending me email when they found my articles on Google. Thank you all for the kind support!

And because of all the positivity and uplift, I’ve began to rethink about what my blog stands for and how it should look like to better present the content I’ve been creating. Then it occurred to me that a big part of my content still revolves around the images and videos I’ve created during my trip – it’s the essence of my journey and the living prove of its existence.

What’s New?

Behind the scenes for the past 5 months or so, I’ve working hard on creating my own new blog design from scratch. It look a lot longer than I thought because of all the distractions I’ve had and some technical issues that I’ve been encountering.

But the good news is, it’s all mostly done and ready to roll out! To ensure there’s least amount of impact, I’ve decided to roll them out in phases.

If there’s one thing that helps viewers and readers alike remember you easily, that would be the logo branding you had on your blog. My old logo I had was a quick fix I’ve created when I first started my blog and didn’t have as much time to rethink about what my branding represents.

The pandemic had created a perfect chance for me to take a few steps back and take it slow. Looking at the journey thus far, an inspiration came to my mind and I was able to pen it down before inking it into photoshop.

The result was a very spectacular and visually beautiful combination of various elements that I want to capture. A traditional compass and its antiquity colour and design forms the largest part in the logo.

Home Page

The landing page of a blog has always been the face of the creator’s content and branding. It shows the amount of dedication and effort put into creating that blog and production of all those beautiful content you get to enjoy behind the screen.

Because of its importance, this will be the first change I will be rolling out in this quarter. What you will immediately notice is that the main focus is now centred around the powerful images in each content.

It also makes full use of the white spaces to create segregation to the types of content and enables greater comfort in reading these articles. The photographic albums handcrafted by me, holds the center stage in the design.

And last but not least, each of the design elements introduced are fully mobile-friendly and compatible. A considerable amount of thoughts and crafting were put in to ensure that the design delivers the best experience for everyone when viewed on different devices.

I’m proud to say that, in my humble opinion, it has been very successful and I’m pleased with the results.

More Travel Videos

The other emphasis aside from my travel images, will be a whole new content – Travel Videos. While not professionally crafted as I’m learning the different creative ways of joining multiple videos, it probably is one of the best way in capturing my journey throughout the different countries.

The first representative video has already been released – I sure hope you had a chance to watch it – and it’s now available on the blog.

The video aims to create a promotional introduction to Finland and all the fun there is during Winter. It’s a collaboration with Visit Rovaniemi while I was there on a trip, covering from Helsinki to Santa Claus Village.

A second video is well underway as I work on its sequence and continue fine tuning it. Be sure to stick around to catch more Travel Videos that will be released on my blog!

Introducing new range of content

While it is true that we may still not be able to travel anytime soon, or at least for the next couple of months, I believe we are all hard at work and creating a new list of itineraries that we would like to go when the borders are fully opened!

I am no different. The list of itinerary and where to go next is only ever increasing. But hey, that’s actually a good thing! It only meant that there’s constantly new and more things to look forward to, and keeps our eyes straight ahead of us.

At a time like this, it’s incredibly important for all of us to continue looking ahead instead of looking back. Only by pushing forward then can we walk out of this dark period and rise up to a much brighter road.

In essence of that, I will be rolling out a new type of content. Well, to be exact it’s not really different content per se, but I’m sure it will be exciting. If I could share my itinerary ideas with everyone and continue motivating each other, I believe that’s a greater compelling reason to continue doing what I’m doing.

What’s Next?

All in all, a lot of exciting news, updates and changes coming from my end. I’m incredibly stoked to work on all of these and it can be hard to stay focus at times.

But I guess what’s good out of this update is that, just like everyone else, I’m struggling on my own too. But from within this journey, I’m sure we all learn a great deal of things too. And therefore, we will push forward, continue working harder, and never give up.

I hope this update brings about positive energy for you and motivates you in one way or another. If you like seeing these content so far, stay around and be sure to subscribe! That is always one of the best way to show your appreciation and support to my content.

Thank you and I will see you around soon! (Or better yet, somewhere across the world!)
