Quick Read: Like everyone else, it’s been months since we left Singapore and travel to somewhere awesome. In fact, we haven’t quite step out of our home until recently! We’re thirsting for travel. Like real bad. But we can’t and we shouldn’t. So why not consider a short staycation at some of our most beautiful hotels and enjoy the long weekend in August?
It’s been a couple of months since the COVID situation started and I’m sure most of us are thirsting for a good holiday now.
So am I. Like, I literally can’t wait to start traveling again.
While the pandemic situation continues to evolve, all of us have to play a part and exercise safety. So that means no overseas travel for now still.
What then? What options do we have to quench this thirst? Even heading across to Malaysia seems unlikely too.
With the lift of the Circuit Breaker, hotels and entertainments are opening up again.
So I thought, how about treating ourselves to a short staycation during the National Day period?
I decided to do a quick check on the possible hotel staycations and what are the prices we’re looking at during that long weekend. Guess what I found?
Almost every hotels we know of, are having major discounts!
It’s all red. Big red. But a good type of red – because they’re all having massive discounts and promotions!
I don’t know about you, but my travel style had always been a cost conscious and a budget in mind. So in almost an entire 10 odd years, I’ve never stepped foot into any of the local hotels.
They are too expensive for me.
But now, you see places like MBS and Equarius Hotel in Sentosa going for 40% to 60% discount. It’s INSANE.
To be fair, it’s still under the expensive radar for me because I never booked a staycation that costs more than SGD 250 per night.
But hey, local businesses need our support. We can’t travel overseas. And we’re dying of thirst for travel. Why not?
If you must have a look at the list, don’t worry. I’ve filtered it down for you.
Tip: There are more options that are having major discounts as well. Have a look using the link below where the right filters have been added for you.
Just click on the link below to check it out. And you’re better off booking it right away if you’re interested.
Because everyone else is in the same situation and are going to book it if you don’t.
But are these discounted awesome hotels in the list of approved hotels during this COVID period?
That’s the next question I’ve thought myself too. Not letting the chance to slip by, I went ahead to check it out too.
And it’s plenty of good news! Have a look at it yourself using the link below.

So I’m very delighted that at the very least, some part of that thirst for travel or staycation can be satisfied.
Of course, alternatively you can head over to our resorts in Changi or Aloha for a family outing with BBQ if that fancy you too.
Come to think of it, I really wouldn’t mind that too huh… Perhaps, that can be a Christmas “holiday” in December.
Anyway, coming back to our top class hotels that are on major discounts, mind you that they’re still expensive. But if you haven’t had a chance to stay in these classy hotels before, now really is your best chance.
No kidding. 50% discount off per night stays?! That’s a 2 nights stay equivalent to 1 night stay without the discount.
I really can’t find a much better deal than this. At least not yet.
Ok, fine. Point taken. But there’re quite a few options out there. What would you recommend?
I’ve personally stayed a few before in the past (not booked by me of course), so I’ve a fair share of little experience.
So here goes my recommendations!
Note: Below recommendations are genuinely just based on my interest, past experiences and overall popularity and general consensus. It’s not sponsored nor selected due to any collaborative reasons. Please DYODD on which you would prefer before booking. But hurry, these awesome deals don’t last!
My top 3 recommended hotels even I would stay
1. Resorts World Sentosa – Equarius Hotel
I’ve stayed in this hotel in the past for my Birthday celebration. And I must say, it’s really awesome.
It’s expensive but it’s quite really worth it. The food at the restaurant “Forest” is extremely delicious too, proudly helmed by our local celebrity chef Sam Leong.

Even the online reviews thus far had been really good. If you’ve stayed at other hotels in Sentosa, you probably should try this one out too.
You might be amazed by the spaciousness of its room.
Cost per night after discount: | SGD 450 – 500 |
Total cost for a 3D2N stays: | SGD 1195 – 1200 |
Period of stay: | 8 Aug 2020 to 10 Aug 2020 |
Estimated savings: | 50% – 60% |
2. Marina Bay Sands
Next one on my list is MBS. Ok, perhaps most of you have already had the chance to stay here before. Good for you.
I haven’t. It’s too expensive for me to even consider it.
But now, I just might… I just might.
It’s a massive savings we’re talking about here and it’s just too tempting for one to dismiss. Especially during a peak period and public holiday where people tend to book these places for a good relaxing long weekend.
Sure, it definitely won’t be a high floor. It won’t be a suite. It just might be a tiny little room.
But that’s FINE. Like, it’s a thing that you want to make sure you get the chance to experience it once in a lifetime. You probably won’t bother looking at it again if the price is something way out of your range.
(Like myself. Ahem…)
For the same period, also 2 nights stay, we’re looking at just 100 to 200 more than staying at Equarius. REALLY, do you have to think again on this?
Cost per night after discount: | SGD 500 – 600 |
Total cost for a 3D2N stays: | SGD 1400 |
Period of stay: | 8 Aug 2020 to 10 Aug 2020 |
Estimated savings: | 55% – 65% |
3. St. Regis Hotel at Tanglin
The last on my list is St. Regis. I don’t know why but this hotel had always been in my list for as long as I can remember.
Largely because it left an impression of “way out of my league” and it’s a super high class hotel. And it still is to me, by the way. Not that I can afford this type of hotels anytime at all.
But that’s exactly the point here. They too, are having at least a 40% discount during this period.
At just SGD 1000, you can stay for 3D2N in Orchard area at this superbly beautiful hotel that dates all the way back to 1904 when it first started.
It’s unique modern European and classy style is what attracted me the most. It makes you feel like you’ve just traveled to Europe.
Cost per night after discount: | SGD 450 – 500 |
Total cost for a 3D2N stays: | SGD 1000 – 1100 |
Period of stay: | 8 Aug 2020 to 10 Aug 2020 |
Estimated savings: | 40% – 50% |
What would you pick for this coming long weekend in August to quench your thirst for travel?
So there you have it. My personal top 3 picks from all the other hotels that are also having discounts right now. Also not in any particular order, I picked them purely because of it’s proximity to the places where we can have lots of fun – From Sentosa to MBS area to Orchard.
You may not choose any of those from the above for your personal reasons, but be sure to book one if you’re interested. Such deals are always quick to be grabbed.
In fact, as you’re reading this you’re probably already too late for some of the better deals. At the date of writing this, I already came across 2 popular hotels that are just fully booked!
